We help where help is needed
Since the beginning of our work, we have been offering people in our project regions aid that lasts. Our goal is to enable local people to help themselves so that basic development aid in the long term is not needed any more. However, environmental disasters or political changes sometimes require rapid assistance for people in need. In these acute crisis situations, we help immediately and effectively. If we cannot be on site ourselves, we support the measures of other organisations.

Ukraine emergency aid
The war in Ukraine has changed people's lives abruptly. Together with partner organisations, we immediately took first aid measures, distributed necessary relief supplies, medication and dressing material and set up emergency shelters for refugees.

Corona emergency aid in our project regions
The coronavirus pandemic hit people in the Global South particularly hard: Along with the virus, hunger returned to regions where it had almost been defeated. Immediately, Swiss Doctors had to focus on emergency aid.

Emergency aid in the Philippines after typhoon
Destroyed houses, uprooted trees and flooded coastal areas: Every year, 20 to 25 typhoons hit the Philippines with full force. The number is expected to rise further due to climate change. Once a typhoon has struck, for many the fight for survival begins. In these times, Swiss Doctors provides emergency aid.
