Making a lasting difference with a financial donation
Whether HIV-infected people, malnourished children with symptoms of deficiency or people with chronic illnesses: Swiss Doctors helps everyone who needs help - because everyone has the right to medical care. For us, making a lasting difference means above all improving the situation on the ground in the long term. In addition to medical care, preventive measures such as training in hygiene or the training of local people to become health professionals are therefore also an integral part of our projects.

What does people in need mean?
When we talk about caring for people in need, we mean disadvantaged people in our project regions who are in a miserable situation due to war or poverty, for example. Of course, we also always provide short-term aid to alleviate local hardship. Therefore, we provide people with medical care and ensure that they are better off immediately. However, our projects are always aimed towards improvement in the long run. The goal is always to hand over the projects to local hands - so that our aid remains sustainable.
How much of my donation reaches the people?
It is just as important to us as it is to you that the maximum amount of your donation flows directly into the projects and makes a long-term difference. We therefore minimise other expenses, for example for the administration of donations, as much as possible. Our Swiss Doctors also work worldwide on a voluntary basis. They help during their annual leave or when they are retired and do not receive any remuneration.
How can I donate and help sustainably?
With our options for donation, there are various ways to help sustainably. You decide which type of donation is right for you. For example, you can donate for a specific occasion - and share your joy with others at Christmas or on your birthday - or help in the long run becoming a permanent donor. Especially regular donations help us to develop our projects in a way that allows us to plan ahead.
Are there any administration costs for online donations?
Responsible handling of donations is particularly important to us, which is why a small portion of the donation is also used for administration. This is the only way we can make sure that the donations are used sensibly and help people on the ground.
Nevertheless, we are constantly optimising our processes so that as much as possible goes directly to the projects.
