Campaign against female genital mutilation
In Sierra Leone, we are working with our partner organisation ‘Commit & Act-Sierra Leone’ towards a common goal: The end of the harmful practice of female genital mutilation. Supporting this project is very important to us and is currently one of the focal points of our work.
Topics in focus
Focal points of treatment
There are some diseases that occur frequently in emerging and developing countries. These include, for example, malaria, HIV infections, tuberculosis and, of course, the consequences of malnutrition in virtually all our areas of operation.

Women`s health in developing countries
Women in developing countries are often the least privileged group in society. We empower women and girls, advocate safe pregnancies to reduce infant and maternal mortality and fight against female genital mutilation.
Fake medicines
Fake medicines are no longer limited to developing countries - they have become a global problem. Find out what Swiss Doctors is doing about it.
Emergency aid
If an emergency occurs in our project areas, we provide rapid emergency aid. Examples are food supply during the coronavirus pandemic, after environmental disasters or currently during the war in Ukraine.
Cooperation in development
Cooperation in development is about empowering people to help themselves. Find out here what contribution Swiss Doctors is making.
Helping people to help themselves
Empowering people to help themselves and thus making outside help unnecessary in the long run - that is one of Swiss Doctors' most important goals.
